My idea is...

Allow Direct TV and Dish Network to carry Comcast Sportsnet--Philadelphia

I have considered switching to Direct TV because it is cheaper, however, Comcast holds all of the regional viewing rights to the Phillies, Flyers and 76ers so I would only be able to watch my favorite teams if they are on a national telecast.

Directv has an awesome services on sports packages while
Dish Network is better on entertainment packages. On the other hand they are pretty similar, both are better than cable.

When is the FCC going to live up to it's responsibility and get Comcast to share the broadcast feed with other television providers in the Philadelphia PA market?
The fact that this situation still exists, is absurd.....
The only way this is going to change is by local sports fans either going to our local politicians or just refusing to attend games until this situation is rectified.
It really is possible if everyone would continue to push this issue......

I have been hearing that Comcast was going to have to give up CSN for years and nothing has changed. Is there ever going to be a time when i can sit down and watch the Phillies without blackouts and such because Comcast has a monopoly on these teams and found a loophole to hide behind because of Prism and the underground cables and so on. Come on this is 2012. How can they hold all of us customers *******. Even people that live in Phila cant watch the Phillies unless they have Comcast. Shame. You guys at the FCC are the only ones that can ever change this.Comcast will never give them up on their own .

I have just opened a Marketing firm in the Atlantic City area. I handle in-store promotions for Directv in the area where we guarantee the best possible Directv deals and incentives for new customers switching in our stores. Only people who have been away from Directv for over 2 years or never had it qualify. Our current stores we staff every day except Wed. 1-6 pm include Williamstown and Pleasantville Sam's Club and Best Buy Manahawkin. We give out automatic bill discounts for Sam's member and gift cards in Best Buys. We will expand into more retailers as much as possible. We will also be getting Comcast Sportsnet Philly, which I know we have been "in negotiation" for what seems to be years, but should have them "sooner than later." Just walk into one of these 3 stores and look for our DTV booth and you will be amazed at what we can do for you. DTV is #1 in picture/HD/Sports/Movies/ and customer satisfaction. We are actually the #1 media provider in the world. Our new advanced equipment are all touch screen receivers, a satellite which is more weather reliable than cable now, and the most interactive and exciting television experience out. We give guaranteed prices which don't change, even if DTV Corp. does because we are a local customer service program. UPGRADE your entire home and SAVE!!!!!!! Don't worry about losing a bundle or what you will do with your internet/phone, there are several ways to benefit your family and save tons of money.

mahmed745@gmail.com for more info or walk into any of these stores.

I have Dish. I do miss my local sports and feel bad as my son wants to watch flyers and sixers but I just cant get myself to go to Comcast.

Is there any word on the FCC ruling that might allow satallite tv to carry CSN?

        Thanks.

I had Comcast through my local cable companies for years. When I moved in with my girlfriend she had DirectTV so initially I wanted to switch back to cable just for Comcast. We stayed with DirectTV and they offer everything I need but Comcast Philadelphia. I need my Flyers, Phillies and Sixers!

Comcast is the greediest, scummiest company I have ever done business with. The monopoly they hold over the Philadelphia market is unacceptable. I finally got fed up with poor customer service, poor technology, poor technicians, poor pricing, etc..and switched to DTV. My life is so much better knowing I don't have to deal with comcast weekly, but it is not fair that even though i live in the philly metro i can't watch my local sports teams.

Had Comcast, its was way overpriced for the service they provide. Switched to DirecTV, very satisfied but missing my local sports.

I used to have Comcast in Adams County, PA, I only got Comcast Mid-Atlantic. Comcast told me I was too far from Philly to get the Philly sports. Now I have direct TV in York (which is further east) The Pens and Flyers get blacked out if they are on the NHL Network, and I still only have Comcast Mid-Atlantic. Even if I bought the center ice package I would only get the other teams broadcast of flyers games; if they were playing the pens I assume it would be blacked out. There is no way to win in PA.

I live in Mechanicsburg, PA, 1 hour and 45 minutes from Philly and I cannot get CSN on my cable (Comcast Carlisle). This is a JOKE!!! Come on Comcast, either add your channel to my comcast area or put your channel on Direct TV. Don't be a bunch of greedy bastards. Help out your fans!!!!!

COMCAST IS RAN OWNED AND OPERATED BY THIEVES!! THEIR PRICES ARE JUST RIDICULOUS, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS & I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE NOT EVEN MY WORST ENEMY. Yes I am a huge sports fan and love my Flyers but it is only a matter of time before we are all going to be able to watch our favorite sports teams w/o comcast. MOST IMPORTANTLY: we need to let the owners of our teams know that they shouldn't sell out to comcast, make it so all fans can watch.TO COMCAST:Greed ALWAYS ends in disaster!!!
