  1. Investigate, don't just communicate

    A brief story first...
Some time back I had a complaint about contamination in a food product. A few days later I was contacted by the manufacturer of the product. The person was very assertive and obviously had no intention of resolving the issue. Instead she offered me a money back on the price of the product that was less than $5, and hung up without my confirmation. A $5 note (not check) was received in mail a few days later. FCC assumed the matter resolved.

    Suggestion...
Consumer complaints should be handled by FCC themselves or their vendors to investigate…

  3. Adopt a management system

As far as I can tell there is no consumer complaint management system. I filed formal complaints and the staff misled me and had me spend thousands of dollars and then never adjudicated the complaint. Informal complaints are misclassified and just go into a black hole. Meanwhile, the FCC pursues empire building projects that have nothing to do with their mission. The FCC recently brought Comcast into court and the judge complained the FCC didn't even mention one statute in their legal arguments! The staff either ignores inquiries or just makes up stuff as they go along and disregards law.

  4. Start to enforce part 95 Governing Citizens Band Radio

The FCC is supposed to enforce the rules! No matter how many times folks complain about people operating illegal CB radios, nothing is ever done about it. Want to have a better reputation with the public? Enforce the rules!

  5. I get spam txt msgs, and try to upload screenshot (25kb jpeg) but I receive an irrelevant error

Your online system is bugged with errors. I am unable to upload a small 25kb jpeg file, but if i convert it to a pdf file and upload that - it works. I shouldn't have to convert jpeg files to pdf files, just to show you a screenshot of spam.

  7. How do I check on a complaint previously filed?

Your options for complaint filings are neither clear, nor easy to navigate through. If my issues span more than one area listed do I need to file multiple complaints? It appears that these are my only options.
As a college graduate with many years of experience in business I must say that the average citizen could not either figure their way through this process. If my privacy and ethics were not at stake I too would have given up before ever attempting the first complaint which I was told is not in the system even though I have both a…

  10. Transparency in the Complaint Review Process

Ok, so what is the process that is used to evaluate complaints. What are the stages of review. What are the heuristics of the process that escalates concerns? Who receives the complaints and what are their qualifications? Does an issue need to be life threatening or will profit threatening do? Is it a democracy like American Idol -- the issue with the most whining wins? If you disclose the review the process steps, citizens can take a more realistic approach to speaking up.

  11. force broadcasters to broadcast summaries of adjucations against them.

If a broadcaster has done something wrong which prompts an investigation which reveals a breach of rules, the broadcaster in question should play out a summary of findings by the FCC to outline what happened and what actions have been taken.
