  1. Allow electronic filing of ALL tyrpes of filings and disclose them promptly

While ECFS allows many filings to be sent electronically, it amazes me that even after the anthrax problem of several years ago some filings MUST be on paper. Examples include petitions for rulemaking and petitions for review of nondocketed items.

Also I am now involved in a restricted proceeding dealing with a petition for review of staff rejection of a complaint. There is nothing on the current FCC website that even hints that this action has been ongoing for over a year, let alone gives public access to the filings made by both sides. Indeed, if other parties were aware…

  3. Compile data sets (license applications, fines, petitions, etc.) with meta tags enabling analytics

Using FCC data is currently a difficult problem for the public to do research on without significant help by resources from within the FCC which is expensive and time consuming. Notices, FCC registrations, ilcense applications, Violations, etc, were available with meta tags, sorted by categories and searchable by a variety of different meta tags embedded into them, it would make the archives of datasets and content under management by the FCC more useful by its customers and users.

  7. Take design lessons from Apple and Wired Mag

Apple Inc.'s website beautifully conveys information in simple ways, including large tables of technical information. Anyone can look through the complex tech stats of any of Apple's products because of its simplicity of presentation. Wired Magazine uses a similar paradigm of using more images and fewer words, which means the information presented in its often very technical articles are easy and even pleasurable to read. It's important that the FCC make this information as accessible to the public as possible through that kind of a graphical, innovative, simple presentation.

  9. Why is the FCC allowing the Apple Inc., to restrict Flash support?

I received an email back from the FCC, telling me that I should contact Andriod, about the issue. This may not sound clear, since I was trying to reply, but please take a moment to read, and is what I think, is extremely important point to get across!

I am talking to the FCC here! You guys are the ones who call the shots, not Apple! I do not need to contact Andriod, Apple, Microsoft, or anyone else. The Federal Communications Commission should have all rights to tell these corporate businesses and services, that what they are doing is wrong.…

  10. Change histories

Publish data on past, current, and proposed changes to rules, decisions and filings not only as their current versions but also as "changesets" that are both machine and human readable and can be used as a concise summary of any change as well as used to construct a "timeline" of changes to a public document, and to compare any combination of past, current, future, or proposed versions with each other.

The traditional Unix "diff" utilities, modern version control systems such as Subversion and the page editing histories on Wikipedia are widespread and successful examples of such solutions, with Wikipedia's system…

  11. Improve FCC General Menu Reports to allow easier data export

The "old" system allowed more flexibility when exporting data. For example, it would be nice to be able to search for licensees on a frequency within a geographic area and have the report automatically return sites, antenna height and ERP as part of the report instead of having to check each licensee individually after running the first query.

  13. Intentional interference on amateur bands

Start getting pro active in those who wish to purposely, throw either dead keys on air, or on AM and FM on SSB portions of the bands.

It is well Known the FCC has listening posts and needs to start utilizing them in a more productive manner.

Either it be a non lic. person or not causing doing the deed. If they want to act like children then they deserve to be treated as such by losing their equipment and lic revoked.

Many are tired of filing complaints just to get nothing done.

  15. Lease Band Width

Rather than sell our band width we should lease and bring revenue into the government.

  16. Mandate that all spectrum is USED & prove it.

Seeing as everyone thinks that there will be a spectrum shortage in the future, all commercial licenses should be required to be actively using their spectrum & to prove that they are using it. Otherwise, spectrum should be available to anyone who wants to lease it. There is a lot of UNUSED spectrum out there right now in rural area's for example.

  18. Act Faster

I know of a 2003 declaratory ruling on the alleged abuse of DBS public interest channels that hasn't been acted on in seven years; it was put out for public comment but then the previous administration chose to just let it sit in a file where it continues until this day. Please act.
