Require all media companies licensed by the FCC to provide free air time to political candidates
It is in the interest of all citizens to get the money out of our political process so that or elected representatives can actually represent the citizens who elected them. A significant percentage of the money spent by political candidates goes to media organizations who use public airwaves or have a virtual monopoly granted by the government. The licenses that the government grants, grants these companies unparalleled access to the American public. In return for the grant of access, media companies should not be allowed to charge political candidates for access to the American public. This should be part of the cost of licensing.
