Increase the Number and size of outside Bureau Offices Nationwide.
MARTIN D. WADE commented
The Enforcement Bureau has offices outside the Metropolitan DC area only with the FCC and these offices need to be reduced in area and have more personnel to respond to the challenge of meeting with the public and being in the public eye such as speaking to groups on technology, availability of government expertise in times of Emergency and and creating an image in the public that the FCC has a local office, not just a presence in Washington, DC.
Enforcement needs to be stepped up with a local office equiped to respond and turn around on compliants within a reasonable time. Public Safety/Industrial/Commercial users need their interference problems resolved with the firm hand of the FCC. Spectrum issues need to be handled promptly and resolved quickly as to allow the entity using the spectrum to be able to do so without delay.
NOVs and NALs could be issued for deterents and information dissimnated quickly to maintain spectrum discipline.
Each office should have at three to five agents covering no more than 2 states at the most and should devote a portion of their time attending trade shows where FCC involvement would benefit the public and industry, speaking to public groups and presentations to local government and industry.
