Auto-reporting phishing calls from smart phones.
The FCC is failing to stop millions of phishing calls directing people to web sites that collect sensitive login data illegally. Just happened again today with the site www.myattworld.com.
So, my idea is that the FCC create an API that cell phone carriers (and other app writers) can access, that allows carriers to create simple buttons for their users on smartphones. This button would allow upset users to report phishing calls to the FCC containing the date, time, calling number, etc in near-real time.
Then these reports to the FCC would be sorted, analyzed, then acted on automatically, so that the FCC can auto-warn potentially offending callers that they are being reported, and to be made aware of the penalties for illegal phishing.
I am a software developer, and would volunteer to write the software if needed, I'm so frustrated with this! It just happened again today, and my wife is getting very upset by these calls.
