CLOSED: API Ideas

The reboot.fcc.gov project has ended. All related public feedback forums have been closed.*

At the FCC we are committed to opening our data. Share you thoughts and ideas on new data sets to unlock, and new web services the FCC should offer.

  1. Broadband availability by phone number or address

It would be very helpful to have an aggregate source of broadband availability by phone number (or address) to determine if broadband can be provisioned. It would also be beneficial if this lookup included the maximum broadband speed available on the phone line.

  2. LATA lookup from lat/lon

Just like the census block lookup API which returns census block given a latitude and longitude coordinate, provide a lookup API that returns LATA for a given latitude and longitude.

This button would allow upset users to report phishing calls to the FCC containing the date, time, calling number, etc in near-real time.
